Professional boundaries

Clear work starts with clear limits.

Depthics examines business architecture and organisational conditions. This register states where that work ends and another professional field begins.

01Public register

Six professional boundaries.

Legal

May examine

Governance, responsibility and decision structures as organisational facts.

Does not provide

Legal advice or legal opinion.

Refer or stop when

A legal interpretation or remedy is needed.

Financial

May examine

Resource logic, management visibility and resilience as architecture.

Does not provide

Statutory audit, assurance, tax advice or investment advice.

Refer or stop when

Regulated or specialist financial judgement is needed.

People

May examine

Role clarity, capability coverage, workload structure and dependency.

Does not provide

Psychological or medical assessment and employee ranking.

Refer or stop when

Individual assessment or health expertise is needed.

Wrongdoing

May examine

Structural controls, escalation routes and evidence boundaries.

Does not provide

Investigation of individual wrongdoing.

Refer or stop when

Alleged misconduct requires an authorised specialist process.

Cyber and technology

May examine

System ownership, information flow and dependency at architecture level.

Does not provide

Penetration testing, security certification or technical assurance.

Refer or stop when

Technical security testing or certification is needed.

Outcomes

May examine

Decision priorities and recommendations within evidence and scope.

Does not provide

Promises of growth, savings, compliance or transformation results.

Refer or stop when

A requested promise would exceed the evidence or professional scope.

02Scope and evidence

Use stays inside the declared boundary.

  • Conclusions apply only to the declared scope and available evidence. Missing or inaccessible evidence remains visible.
  • A report is not proof about people, entities or periods outside its scope.
  • Conflicts of interest are identified before work starts and revisited when scope changes.
03Participant protection

Collection conditions come before evidence.

Evidence access, identity handling, confidential follow-up, withdrawal and protected allegations must be proportionate to the engagement and agreed before collection begins.

04Larger organisations

A clear operating boundary is required.

Work inside a larger organisation is considered only when one bounded unit, value stream or decision system can be clearly defined.

05Delivery conditions

Fit is assessed case by case.

Delivery conditions are assessed case by case, including legal, language, contracting, privacy, data handling and evidence access requirements. A referral may narrow, pause or stop the engagement.

This register is a professional-scope statement. It is not legal approval and does not replace the engagement contract.
